We keep things simple. We only collect the data we need to process orders, answer your questions and improve the site.

What information we collect
When you order, subscribe or contact us, we collect:
- Your name and delivery address, so we can send your order.
- Your email address and phone number, so we can confirm orders and send delivery updates.
- Payment information, which is handled securely by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- Anything you choose to tell us for customer service reasons, such as a gift message or a delivery instruction.
- Your marketing preferences, if you sign up for our newsletter.
We also collect non-identifying information about how the site is used, such as pages visited and device type, to help us improve it.

Who we share information with
To get your Freddie Star gift set to you, we share the minimum necessary details with:

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop the transactional emails you need about an order you have placed.
Children’s privacy
Our products are made for families, but we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Orders must be placed by an adult aged 18 or over. If you believe a child’s data has been given to us without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep your information
- Order and transaction records: six years after the end of the relevant tax year, as required by HMRC.
- Customer service correspondence: three years from the date of the enquiry.
- Marketing subscriber data: until you unsubscribe, and then removed from active lists.
- Analytics data: 14 months, in line with the retention setting in our analytics tool.
If you ask us to delete your details and we are not legally required to keep them, we will remove them from our active systems.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your data, where we have no ongoing legal reason to keep it.
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it.
- Ask us to transfer your data to another provider, where this applies.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our basis for processing.
To exercise any of these, email info@freddiestar.com. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Photographs sent to us
If you send us photographs to support a return or a fault claim, we keep them only for as long as we need to resolve the claim and to meet our record-keeping obligations.
Data breaches
If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and tell you directly where the risk is high.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make an important change we will post the revised version here and, where appropriate, let you know by email. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
